Insert In-text Cites (Author-Date) In Your Paper.

Intext citations, for APA Style (Author-Date Cites), are placed in the body of your paper. The in-text citation includes the author's last name, the year of publication (Rawlings, 2006), and, sometimes, if the material is a direct quotation, a specific page reference (Brown & West, 2007, p. 234).

For Turabian, in-text citations are formatted as footnotes.

To format in-text citations, you will first need to set the style for your in-text cites, and find the work you need to cite in your datafile.

1.
Open your paper, and put the cursor where you would like to place the cite.

.

Place for the author-date in-text cite

2.
Go to the CiteWrite* Preview Box, and click the Insert Cite in Document tab.

If Dr Paper is not on your Word Add-ins menu: Click "Copy" on the CiteWrite Preview box, and then, in Word, click Home, Paste, Merge Formatting.

Note: You can easily switch between Word and CiteWrite by clicking on the icons on your Task Bar, which is usually visible at the bottom of your screen.

Insert Author-Date Cite into your paper

3.
Check your document to make sure the in-text cite has been placed successfully.

.

Select the form for your research source in CiteWrite
